We have all got our images of the hypnotist: some guy in a turban waving a coin in front of your face telling you that you are getting sleepy and then making you do idiotic things for the amusement of the audience. Everyone is just so happy and relieved that it is not them that is being called up on stage and being made to howl like a dog or cluck like a chicken. And then, you read an advertisement for weight loss hypnosis. You have tried everything else, and you are really curious. But then you wonder, what would clucking like a chicken have to do with trying to lose some weight?
Weight loss hypnosis has nothing to do with clucking like a chicken or acting like a beagle or anything silly like that. You do not have to be in a room full of snickering strangers, up on stage and on display where you will feel vulnerable and ill at ease.
In fact, you do not actually have to go anywhere to try this manner of weight loss. It is an adaptation of the way your brain works, a change in the way you think that is the key to success. Weight loss hypnosis works if you allow yourself to believe that it will and will allow yourself to think that you can actually change the way that you think and feel about the food you are eating and your own body.
One of the first things you need to change when you are trying to lose weight is your attitude about food, nutrition and exercise. If you can get yourself in the right frame of mind, you can make the positive changes that you need to.
For some people, it just might be easier to go ahead and use weight loss hypnosis to make some of those changes a reality. It is a subconscious thing- if you can believe that you are going to make these changes, you might be able to make them faster and easier than if you just suddenly announced it one day. That mental boost you get from weight loss hypnosis may be just what you need.
For some people, weight loss hypnosis will work well while for others, it will not work at all. You don’t have to go to the crowded seminars to be hypnotized, in fact, you might find that they work better if you listen to the tapes at home because you can reinforce them whenever you feel like you need the additional support and encouragement.
